Ethical and environmental policy
VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO promotes and implements an ethical policy through which intends to ensure, within its establishment and for all company activities, compliance with the current national and community legal provisions regarding the management of employment relationships, recognizing the value national collective agreements, territorial and company supplementary agreements, as well as any other form of legislation in force; the company also recognizes international agreements on labor law and the treatment and dignity of the person, as well as any law aimed at ensuring the protection of human rights, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN – 10 December 1948).
VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO guarantees the freedom of trade union association according to the methods established by the "Workers' Statute" (Law n°300 of 05.20.1970 and subsequent amendments and additions) and by the application rules connected to it, as are also guaranteed and recognized to female workers and workers equal treatment opportunities, without any differentiation or discrimination based on gender, religious, political, racial, sexual or any other nature.
VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO is committed to guaranteeing the protection of employees and collaborators of all kinds, guaranteeing them working conditions that respect the dignity of the person; working relationships, at any level, must take place with correct behavior, avoiding inappropriate conduct which could be a source of psychological pressure, discomfort, harassment and mobbing, in particular towards subordinate workers.
For the employee selection policies, VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO offers equal job opportunities, guaranteeing fair treatment based on individual skills and competences, hiring people with a regular employment contract, in compliance with the laws, collective agreements, internal agreements and regulations in force and ensuring fair remuneration that complies with the levels established by current contracts.
VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO respects the environment and the need to protect it and minimize the impact that its activities have on it. It is committed to a program of continuous improvement on environmental issues and is open to independent third-party verification, inspection and certification of its progress.
VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO makes this policy publicly available, which will be constantly kept active with an annual review on the occasion of the Management Review, with posting on the company premises and dissemination to all interested parties through the company website; in particular, the company establishes its commitment to:
- respect, protect and avoid the violation of the human rights of others, including the prohibition of forced or involuntary trafficking in human beings; also undertakes to take action to prevent modern slavery;
- do not use or encourage child labor;
- do not resort to forced or compulsory labor of any kind;
- comply with the rules and laws regarding worker safety;
- respect the right of all staff to join trade unions;
- operate in accordance with the provisions of the company code of ethics and comply with the provisions of the Company Regulations;
- not carry out any type of discrimination, avoiding different treatments based on race, social class, nationality, religion, state of health, gender, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, marital status, trade union membership, political opinions, age and any other condition that could lead to the existence of discrimination;
- do not apply disciplinary punishments, with the exception of those permitted by the sector collective bargaining agreement;
- comply with the working hours established by the CCNL and any internal trade union agreements;
- respect the payment of the minimum wage defined by the sector collective bargaining agreement;
- reduce, as much as possible, its environmental impacts and the consumption of raw materials in general;
- qualify and monitor suppliers as far as possible in consideration of their importance and their compliance with ethical and social responsibility policies;
- not tolerate in any way or on the part of anyone any behavior linked to corruption and fraudulent activities;
- guarantee information security and data protection, even when entrusted to third parties.
Furthermore, VASERIA DI CASTEGGIO, in order to improve and develop sensitivity and transparency towards the ethical issues indicated above, is also registered on the SEDEX social responsibility platform and uses it to share information with customers and suppliers.
In order to be able to manage reports or complaints from workers and other stakeholders, the company has various tools at its disposal, as listed below:
- clear reporting, directly to function and department managers;
- clear reporting, directly to company management;
- clear reporting, directly to one's representative bodies (RSU, RLS, Trade Union);
The reporting methods indicated above refer not only to ethical aspects, but also to those related to workplace safety, sustainability and other areas that may require specific reporting methods.
